Their previous relationship isn't described in a couple of paragraphs or in a prologue, You get their story in a couple of chapters. This one is a little different, because the H/h were high school sweethearts. There are a TON of books out there now with a rocker as the hero.

I picked this book up because I had read one of the author's previous book Naughty Girl, and really enjoyed it. I can only hope that there will be more of Lance and Samantha in the future!! It’s such a good read.Īs always with novellas they are over too soon and have me wanting to know more about the characters. When it is steamy–it is STEAMY, when the heartache comes go get yourself a few tissues and when it’s time to swoon you will have a big smile on your face. I Remember You has just the right amount of everything to keep the reader turning the page. Years later fate brings them together and sparks fly as soon ass they see each other but will that be enough to rekindle their relationship? Has too much time passed between high school and now? Their relationship was not able to survive the aftermath that the bitch brought with her. They were happy and in love so you know what that means? Cue the bitch and the trouble she brings with her. I Remember You has steam, love, swooning, heart-ache, and a bitch! Who could ask for anything more? Samantha and Lance loved each other since high school but had an on again off again kind of relationship. This book took me under an hour to read and I can honestly say it was worth it. I loved the epilogue but if I hadn’t clicked to make sure I was on the last page, I would have never known the Epilogue existed, and that would have sucked, cause it was super cute, I would have hated to miss it. Loved the ending…I was a little confused when it said ‘The End’ and then we got an Epilogue. Once they are together the only angst is the unasked question – does the other want to be with me? Of course she wants to be with him, of course he wants to be with her, but will they just ask each other already? Nope! Why ask, when you can just think about asking….but if they didn’t, I wouldn’t be tortured and where is the fun in reading a romance if it’s not for the sheer love of self torture? Did it suck? Yeah, majorly, at least for me, but now I’ve found you again. We had to experience life apart for a while. “You’re right, but I also think this is how it was supposed to be for us. After that it’s just magical, what can I say, I’m a sucker for the lovey dovey-ness….and there was that, mixed in with hot sex. And of course he plays their song from when they were in high school and makes my little heart turn to mush. She knows he may or may not see her, but she needs to see him. Sam decides to take a chance and go to the concert. Hearing that song and hearing him play that song for her with his band, brought all those old feelings even closer to the surface.’ ‘If she wasn’t sure before if she wasn’t over him, there was no doubt now. But it is left at that, a chance encounter. So even with the brief conversation that they have, you can feel the longing, the desire, the regret of missed opportunities. It’s a complete chance encounter, given he’s a big rock star now, he avoids his hometown and it was a complete fluke that she happened to stop and go inside at that time. Until they bump into each other by chance in a gas station, of all places. ‘She’d just said goodbye to her heart and soul forever.’ ‘Only when she fell asleep, exhausted from her tears, did she finally escape the pain she felt.’ Sam is hurt too much to see past it, and that’s the end of them… Then the ball drops…something from Lance’s past comes back to bite him in the ass, and it bites down hard. There is no doubt in Sam’s mind, Lance is it for her…they are meant to be, soul mates and all that. They’ve been together on and off for a while, but they’re finally on and things are good. They’re both 17, horny high school teenagers, boy, could I relate. We first meet Lance and Samantha in the past, 14 years ago. That’s what I knew I was getting with I Remember You and Scarlett delivered it beautifully. It packs a punch, gives me everything I need, minimal drama, lots of warm and tingly feelings and leaves me a happy little bookworm. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a short, quick, hot read.
